BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo junior Stacey Evans (Collinsville, IL/Triad) has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career, as announced today by the conference office.

Evans pitched two complete-game shutouts at Akron over the weekend, a two-hit, 2-0 win on Friday and a three-hit, 4-0 win on Saturday. She struck out 10 and walked just two while holding Akron to a .109 team batting average in the two games.

Evans has not allowed an earned run in her last 36.2 innings pitched, dating back to March 21, and she has allowed just one earned run over her last 50.2 innings pitched. She has posted a 4-1 record with three shutouts in her last five appearances. Evans has a 6-6 record with a 1.82 ERA (eighth in the MAC), four shutouts and 11 complete games so far this season. She also has 96 strikeouts (sixth in the MAC) and has walked just 20 batters in 96.0 innings pitched. She is holding her opponents to a league-low .182 batting average (62-for-341).

Evans and the Bulls (12-15, 3-3 MAC) are next in action on Wednesday, April 14, hosting Bowling Green in a 2 pm doubleheader at Nan Harvey Field.
