Schneider Named MAC East Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo softball player Lacy Schneider (Idyllwild, CA/Hemet) was recently named MAC East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Schneider, a junior infielder, had a stellar weekend in the Bulls’ first weekend of MAC competition, finishing a combined 6-of-12 (.500) in doubleheaders against Toledo and Bowling Green. Additionally, Schneider accumulated four runs batted in and posted two extra-base hits, a double and a home run.

For the season, Schneider leads the club in batting average at .284 and home runs with four and is tied for the top spot with 14 RBIs.

The Buffalo softball team will return to action on Wednesday, April 4 as the Bulls host their home opener, a doubleheader against Pittsburgh. First pitch is slated to be tossed at 3:00 pm with the second game to immediately follow the first.

UB’s showdown with Pitt will be broadcast on WLVL 1340 AM, as part of UB’s expanded radio broadcast schedule. Brendan McDaniels, who calls the play-by-play for the UB women’s basketball team, will call the play-by-play and Jackie O’Brien will provide color commentary from Nan Harvey Field.
