The Zips got on the board in the second inning when a double by Tiffany McCoy drove in Kerstin Sewell with the first run of the game. Akron then broke things open in the third, taking advantage of two Buffalo errors to score three runs. The Zips' lone hit in the inning was a two-out, two-run home run by Sewell. Robbins then came on in relief of starter Andrea Sage (Depew, NY/Depew) and struck out the first three batters she faced. The Zips' final run of the game came in the seventh inning when Sewell crossed the plate on a double steal. Robbins finished with five strikeouts on the afternoon while UA's Keenan struck out six batters. The Zips finished with 10 hits in the game and left nine runners on base compared to Buffalo's five.
