Softball Loses Final Game at Marshall, 7-2HUNTINGTON, WV - The University at Buffalo softball team gave up seven runs in the third inning to lose its final game of a three-game series at Marshall this afternoon, 7-2. With the loss, the Bulls fall to 1-12 on the year and 0-6 in the Mid-American Conference. The Thundering Herd improved to 10-14 overall and 3-3 in the MAC. The series was originally scheduled to be played in Buffalo, but was moved to Huntington due to snow and wet conditions at the UB Softball Stadium.
Freshmen Julie Hibner (Salem, OR/South Salem) and Ann Marie Magur (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott/Connecticut) had two hits apiece in the game, and Evans finished with five strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings pitched. Robbins allowed five earned runs and was credited with her third loss of the year. The Bulls now return home to host Canisius on Tuesday, April 2 in their home opener at the
UB Softball Stadium. The doubleheader will begin at 3 pm. Buffalo will then play a doubleheader
at Colgate on Wednesday, April 3 before hosting St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 5 and Western
Michigan in a three-game MAC series on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7. |
