Bulls Give Up Early Lead at Kent StateBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team dropped its final game of a three-game
series at Kent State this afternoon, 5-3, after giving up an early three-run lead. Sophomore
Kelly Malone (Waterford, MI/Waterford
Kettering) hit a three-run home run, the eighth of her career, but the Golden Flashes answered back with four runs in their first at bat
before adding a single run in the fourth inning to earn the 5-3 come-from-behind victory. Sophomore Jennifer Moore (Williamsville, NY/Delhi (Ont.) District) continued her hitting streak by going 1-for-2, and freshman Marce Ross (Barrie, Ontario/St. Peter's) went 1-for-3 with a double. The Bulls (3-20, 0-3 MAC) will begin the home portion of their Mid-American
Conference season by hosting Ohio in a three-game series next weekend at the UB Softball Stadium. The two
teams will play a single game on Friday, March 30 at 3 pm and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 31
beginning at 1 pm. |
