Softball Opens San Diego Classic With SplitSAN DIEGO, CA - The University at Buffalo softball team opened the San Diego Classic with a split in two one-run games this afternoon at the USD Softball Complex. The Bulls dropped a 2-1 decision to Indiana before rebounding for a 1-0 win over Dartmouth. The Bulls are now 7-9 overall on the season.
The Bulls scored the lone run of the game against Dartmouth in the third inning on an RBI-single by senior Breanne Nasti (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) that scored Ross. Evans struck out nine and allowed just two hits to earn the win, while Danica Giugliano suffered the loss for the Big Green, striking out two and allowing four hits. The San Diego Classic, being co-hosted by San Diego and San Diego State, continues on
Saturday. The Bulls take on Southern Utah at 4 pm ET and San Diego at 8 pm ET before concluding
the tournament with a 12 pm ET meeting with San Diego State. |
