Barr Named MAC East Player Of The Week
BUFFALO, NY- University at Buffalo softball player Sharon Barr (Coarsegold, CA/Yosemite Union) was named MAC East Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

Barr, a sophomore infielder/pitcher, had an excellent weekend at the 2008 Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, KS last weekend, leading the Bulls offensively while playing excellent defense at first base and pitching a solid game against Louisiana Tech last Sunday. Barr finished the weekend with a .875 batting average (7-for-8) with two RBIs and two doubles. Additionally, Barr finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of 1.125%, an on base percentage of .875% and one stolen base.
Barr is currently riding a three-game hitting streak and batting .333 on the year while leading the team in hits (12) and RBIs (7).
The Bulls return to action on Friday, March 28 as the team will open the Mid-American Conference portion of its schedule, hosting the Toledo Rockets in a doubleheader, set to begin at 1:00 pm. Buffalo will then host Bowling Green in single games on Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30.
