Bulls Drop First Two Games At Adidas Tournament

The Bulls lost the first game to Temple, 7-3, but there were bright spots for the UB offense. Freshman Erin Zilka (Benicia, CA/Benicia) continued to play well, hitting a two-run homer in the contest. Junior Mary Russell (Apalachin, NY/Owego Free Academy) had a perfect game from the plate, going 3-for-3. Freshman Dana Carter (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) picked up the loss for the Bulls.

In the second game, the Bulls were defeated by the second-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols, 9-0, in five innings. The Bulls had a tough time getting anything going against Tennessee, only recording one hit in the contest. Junior Sophie Barstad (Canby, OR/Canby) picked up the loss for Buffalo as she allowed four earned runs in the contest.

UB will play two more games tomorrow, beginning with Hofstra at 11 am and finishing the day off against North Carolina State at 4 pm.
