Russell Named MAC East Player Of The Week

Russell, a senior centerfielder, had an excellent weekend at the 2008 Frost Classic in Chattanooga, TN last weekend, leading the Bulls offensively while playing a huge role in Buffalo’s first win of the season, an 11-6 victory over Marshall. Russell finished the weekend with a .429 batting average (6-for-14) with six RBIs and two homeruns. Additionally, Russell plated three runs and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases.

Russell is currently riding a four-game hitting streak and batting .276 on the year while leading the team in hits (8), RBIs (7) and stolen bases (4).

The Bulls return to action on Friday, as the team will travel to the West coast to participate in the UC-Riverside Softball Tournament in Riverside, CA. UB is set for a rematch with Iowa at 12:00 pm followed by a meeting with UC-Riverside at 2:00 pm.
