Breanne Nasti

BUFFALO, NY - For the sixth time in her career, University at Buffalo softball player Breanne Nasti (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office. The senior hit .368 (9-for-17) with two three-run home runs and a total of eight RBIs in the Bulls' six games at Tennessee-Chattanooga's Frost Classic over the weekend.

Nasti's first three-run homer of the tournament came against nationally-ranked Alabama. The Crimson Tide is ranked ninth in the nation in both the NFCA/USA Today Top 25 and the USA Softball/ESPN.com Top 25 polls, and Nasti hit a three-run shot off of pitcher Jennifer Wright in the bottom of the sixth inning of the Bulls' 6-3 loss. Nasti also hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Bulls some insurance runs in their 5-1 win over host Chattanooga. Nasti drove in eight of the Bulls' 14 runs in the tournament and she had a .684 slugging percentage. For the season, she is hitting .375 with three home runs, 10 RBIs and a .792 slugging percentage.
