BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team will face Alabama, ranked seventh in both the latest USA Today/NFCA Top 25 and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls, in the opening game of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga's Frost Classic on Friday, February 27. Due to a team dropping out, the tournament schedule was revised this morning, and the Bulls will now face Alabama (12:15 pm) and Wisconsin (2:30 pm) on Friday, February 27, Tennessee Tech (10 am) and Tennessee-Chattanooga (2:30 pm) on Saturday, February 28 and North Texas (10 am) and Tennessee-Martin (2:30 pm) on Sunday, February 29.

Lauren Picciano

Buffalo will be without the services of starting shortstop Lauren Picciano (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott), who will be out of the Bulls' lineup for six to eight weeks. The sophomore fractured her leg in the first inning of the Bulls' season opener on Friday, February 13 against Virginia Tech at the Georgia Invitational. The Bulls finished the rain-shortened tournament with a 1-1 record, including a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over Appalachian State.
