Jessica Jones begins her second season at UB, serving as the primary pitching coach for the Bulls. Jones helped lead the Bulls to a 25-27 (7-15 MAC) record in her first year, which tied the most wins in a single season in UB's Division I softball era. Prior to joining the Bulls, Jones spent four seasons as the top assistant at fellow Mid-American Conference member, Ohio. With the Bobcats, Jones served as the pitching/catching coach and was also the recruiting coordinator. She assisted the head coach in all aspects of running a successful Division I program, including practice planning; scouting; team travel; monitoring the program’s budget, team hitting and short game, and player evaluation. Jones graduated from Purdue in May of 2004 with a degree in communications with an emphasis on public relations. She minored in organizational leadership supervision. She played four years for the Boilermakers at third base and catcher and was named All-Big Ten her senior year and all-region her freshman campaign. She was also named Academic All-Big Ten from 2001 to 2003. Following her collegiate playing career, Jones served as the student assistant coach for Purdue for the 2003-04 season and recently concluded a six-month stint playing professionally in the Italian A1 League. |
