Floor Hockey - SUMMER 2008

Intramural Floor Hockey
  • Registration Deadline:
    Session 1: Friday, May 23, 2008 at 7:00 PM, at the recreation office - 130 Alumni Arena.
    Session 2: Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM, at the recreation office - 130 Alumni Arena

    Please note - rosters will only be available online or by contacting Michelle Bernas (645-6149), they will NOT be available in 130 Alumni Arena. The floor hockey registration packet is a .pdf file.

    Adobe Professional Users: you can enter your information in the file online and then press the submit button to send the completed form to Michelle Bernas. You must then go to 130 Alumni Arena by the deadline to pay your team registration fee. Submitting the form online does not guarantee a spot in the conference. Spots are not reserved until the registration fee is paid.

    Non-Adobe Professional Users: you can enter your information in the file online and then print the completed form out and bring it to 130 Alumni with your payment.

    Floor Hockey Captains Meeting:
    Session 1: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 5:30 pm in the Bull Pen in Alumni Arena.
    Session 2: Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 5:30 pm in the Bull Pen in Alumni Arena.

    Preseason Play:
    Check for available preseason time slots in 130 Alumni Arena or call the Intramural Sports office at 645-6149.
    YOU MUST SIGN UP AHEAD OF TIME FOR PRESEASON SLOTS.

    Regular Season Play:
    Session 1: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Clark Hall
    Session 2: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Clark Hall

    Roster Changes:
    Must be done before the start of the third contest.

    Deposit Refund Dates:
    Monday, August 11 - Friday, August 22, 2008 (Excluding Saturday and Sundays)

DESCRIPTION OF DIVISIONS

Men: The men's division is open to all participants who are male students, faculty or staff of the University. There is no 60/40 faulty/staff to student ratio requirement for these divisions. Faculty and staff members must also be recreation permit holders. (A woman can play but is not required)
Co-Rec: The coed division is open to all men and women participants who are students, faculty or staff of the University. There is no 60/40 faculty/staff to student ratio requirement for these divisions. Co-Rec softball must field 3 females at every game. See softball rules for specific penalties involved.

DESCRIPTION OF LEAGUES

Carefree: Playing just for fun and winning or losing is not as important as playing the game.
Advanced: Skill level is at that of at least high school varsity. No specific number of males and females.

As soon as your $40.00 guarantee of appearance deposit, team captain's declaration, and completed roster form are submitted to Room 130 Alumni Arena, between 9:30 am and 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10:30 am and 7:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday, your team will be granted a franchise in the conference and division of your choice, provided there is room remaining.

Each member’s name on the roster form must be accompanied by an appropriate ID number; NO EXCEPTIONS!Each name on your roster form must be accompanied by an appropriate ID number; NO EXCEPTIONS!! The only acceptable ID numbers are: current UB student personal ID numbers or current faculty/staff recreation permit numbers. Teams have up until the start of their third contest to solidify their roster.

It is responsibility of your franchise representative to pick up game procedures, attend the league managers' meeting, and keep in touch with the intramural office through the Head Officials, who are in attendance at all games. Any further questions should be directed to the intramural office by calling 645-6149.

Current UB ID's or Faculty/Staff recreation permits are compulsory for all players at all games.

If you are a UB employee who wishes to participate in our summer intramural programs and you do not have a Recreation Permit, you must purchase a Summer Intramural Permit for EACH sport you want to participate in. Details can be found at 130 Alumni Arena.
