ITHACA, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team completed play at the Cornell Fall Indoor Invitational on Sunday afternoon with a pair of losses in championship matches.

In the Flight A doubles championship, the UB tandem of Nikesh Singh Panthlia (George Town, Malaysia/BMK Penang Free School) and Yules Hadisubroto (Jakarta, Indonesia/SMUN 21) fell to Marist’s Pedro Genovese and Federico Rolon by a score of 8-3. Singh Panthlia and Hadisubroto reached Sunday’s championship with three wins in the bracket, knocking off doubles teams from Marist, Army and Cornell.

UB’s lone remaining singles player on Sunday, Octavian Stane (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside), fell in the consolation championship of the Flight B bracket to Colgate’s Marshall Wheeler, 8-4. Stane advanced into Sunday’s finale following an opening round loss to Alex Dobrin of Binghamton on Friday and moved through the consolation bracket with a pair of victories.

The Bulls close the fall campaign at Dartmouth’s Big Green Invite starting on Saturday, November 4.
