Bulls' Sweep St. LawrenceCANTON, NY - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team claimed a 7-0 victory over St. Lawrence University on Monday, October 15.
At first singles, junior Fery Kasiman (Jakarta, Indonesia/Hilton Head Prep) defeated Andrew Bell, 6-2, 6-3. Senior Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Ian Graddock, 6-1, 6-1, at second singles. At third singles, freshman Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/ St. Francis) defeated Adam Cutter, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) took the fourth singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Aaron Cutter. At fifth singles, freshman Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) defeated Ted Thorndike, 6-0, 6-2. Senior Sean Kelly (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) defeated John DeLorbe at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-1. The Bulls continued to be successful in the doubles competition. Kasiman and Brtko defeated Bell and DeLorbe at first doubles, 8-4. The freshman duo of Zieziula and Rocchio took the second doubles win with an 8-4 victory over Adam and Aaron Cutter. Buffalo made a clean sweep at doubles with a third doubles win over Thorndike and Graddock by Raiker and Josh Leiderman (Queens Village, NY/ Benjamin Cardozo), 8-1. The Bulls will continue competition on October 24-27 at the Rolex ITA Championships
in Princeton, New Jersey. |
