BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo swept past Youngstown State and St. Bonaventure to conclude the Buffalo/Bonaventure Fall Classic undefeated on Sunday. UB won eight of nine matches against the Penguins and took six of the 10 matches with the Bonnies including taking all three doubles competitions. In Sunday's other match, Niagara scored eight wins of nine over Youngstown State. The tournament is run in a "hidden duals" format with eight singles and four doubles matches and no team scoring.

Against Youngstown State, UB junior Joe Popielarczyk (Buffalo, NY/McKinley) scored a "double-bagel" victory over Zach Landgraff. Popielarczyk also combined with Mike Zappone (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) for an 8-3 doubles win over Jason Trapp and Landgraff.

In the St. Bonaventure match, UB was buoyed by taking the doubles meetings. Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) and Matt Kennedy (Mississaugua, Ontario/Erindale) scored a tiebreaker victory to defeat Andrew Hart and Sajeel Qureshi, 9-8 (7-2). Mike Rockman (Toronto, Ontario/Thornhill) and Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) picked up a 9-7 win over Nikhil Murali and Alejandro Nery. In singles, Rockman, Yules Hadisubroto (Jakarta, Indonesia/SMUN 21) and Zappone registered wins. Hadisubroto picked up a "double-bagel" over Dejan Stankovic, 6-0, 6-0.

The Bulls travel to New Hampshire to compete next weekend at the Dartmouth Invitational.
