Powell and Albert Named to MAC Aademic Honor Roll

Both juniors receive scholar-athlete recognition from conference office

BUFFALO, - Two members of the University at Buffalo men's tennis team were named to the Mid-American Conference's 2000-01 Men's Tennis Honor Roll, as announced by the league office. Juniors Matt Albert (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) and Tim Powell (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) both received recognition from the MAC for their academic and athletic performance. Student-athletes must obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00, earn a varsity letter for the current season and have attended the institution for a full year to be eligible for the honor. Powell, a computer engineering major, and Albert, a human services major, were two of just 13 student-athletes to be named to the MAC Men's Tennis Honor Roll.

The Bulls began the 2000-01 season with an undefeated fall season and a school-record 10-0 start. They finished the year with a 14-7 overall record and an 0-5 MAC record.
