Bulls Given Early Exit in MAC Championships
 Mike Rockman |
The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team had high hopes of pulling off a victory or two in the 2007 Mid-American Conference Championships in Fort Wayne, IN, but instead was sent packing after the first round with a 4-0 loss on Thursday to Northern Illinois. The Bulls finish the 2006-07 campaign with an 8-13 overall record and 2-3 in MAC play. It was the second consecutive season that the Bulls had been knocked out of the tournament by the Huskies and by an identical 4-0 margin. Originally scheduled for play outdoors, UB’s match was moved to the indoor courts at the Wildwood Racquet Club in Fort Wayne with the teams utilizing just four courts. NIU won the doubles point with two quick victories although UB had tied the number one match when play was halted. With just four courts available for singles play, UB was unable to get things in gear and the Huskies quickly picked up the three necessary wins to close out the match and end the Bulls’ season.
