Buffalo falls to Bowling Green in men's tennis action

BOWLING GREEN, OH - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team fell to Bowling Green State University on Friday in Bowling Green, OH.

In singles competition, senior Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) fell to Milos Jirout in a close 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) match at first singles. At second singles, Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) fell to Joel Carney, 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) fell to Ian Bliss at third singles, 7-6, 6-3. Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) fell at fourth singles to Mike Kossoff, 6-2, 6-1. Josh Liederman (Queens, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Ed Kuresman at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-1. At sixth singles, Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) fell to Peter Gardonyi, 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles competition, Brtko and Kasiman fell to Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo and Vitek Wild at first doubles, 8-6. At second doubles, Rocchio and Zieziula fell to Carney and Geoff Hiscox, 8-6. Liederman and Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) fell to Kossoff and Kuresman at third doubles, 8-0.

The Bulls will continue competition on April 25 when the host the Mid-American Conference Championships at the UB Tennis Complex.
