Bulls Fall to Rockets, 6-1

Buffalo defeated by the University of Toledo in men's tennis action

TOLEDO, OH - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team fell to the University of Toledo on Sunday in Toledo, OH.

In singles competition, senior Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) fell to Dipesh Rao, 6-3, 6-4 at first singles. At second singles, Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) fell to Pete Baghdati, 6-4, 6-4. Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) fell at third singles to Khalid Al Nabhani, 6-0, 6-4. Freshman Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) secured Buffalo's only win at fourth singles, losing the first set to Alex Farron-Mahon, 3-6, winning the second set 6-2, and leading the third set 5-3 before Farron-Mahon retired. Josh Liederman (Queens, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Tony Tran at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1. At sixth singles, Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) fell to Mirsad Begic, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles competition, Brtko and Kasiman fell to Farron-Mahon and Rao at first doubles, 8-3. At second doubles, Rocchio and Zieziula fell to Tran and Al Nabhani, 8-6. Liederman and Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) fell to Baghdati and Begic at third doubles, 8-1.

The Bulls will continue competition on April 16 at 3 pm at the UB Tennis Center against Canisius.
