MUNCIE, IN - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team completed its three-match road trip on Sunday with a 6-1 loss at Ball State. The Bulls are now 7-11 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-American Conference. Ball State remains undefeated in the MAC at 3-0 and is now 9-11 overall.

Although Ball State recorded the doubles point with two victories, the Bulls top tandem of Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) and Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) picked up an impressive win over Matt Baccarani and Patrick Thompson, 8-6. The Ball State duo had entered the season ranked within the top 25 doubles teams in the nation and led the Mid-American Conference in wins by a number one team with 16 heading into Sunday's match.

UB's other doubles duos were not as fortunate as Rocchio and Zieziula. At number two, Yules Hadisubroto (Jakarta, Indonesia/SMUN 21) and Albert Alant (Pretoria, South Africa/Niskayuna (NY)) were defeated, 8-4, by Matt Laramore and Brad Rhodes. At number three, UB's Rangga Prayudha (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy/Ventura College) and Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Klint Knable and Paul Newman, 8-6.

The lone point scored by the Bulls against the Cardinals came in the number five singles match as Prayudha knocked off Rhodes by a 6-4, 6-3 score. The remainder of the singles matches went to Ball State. At number one, Baccarani downed Rocchio, 7-5, 7-5. At number two, Laramore defeated Zieziula in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. UB's Mike Rockman (Toronto, Ontario/Thornhill), playing at number three, dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision to Thompson. At number four, Liederman was defeated by Ball State's Mike Heule, 7-5, 6-1. The number six match also went to three sets with Knable defeating Hadisubroto, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.

The Bulls travel to Toledo to complete the regular season on Saturday, April 10 for a 1:00 pm match.
