KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team completed its two-match Mid-American Conference weekend with a 7-0 loss to Western Michigan on Sunday at the West Hills Athletic Club. The Bulls are now 7-8 overall and 1-2 in league play while the Broncos are 12-8 overall and 2-0 in the MAC. The lone win for the Bulls came in the doubles portion of the match. UB’s top tandem of Kirill Kolomyts and Marcelo Mazzetto scored a 7-3 tiebreaker win over Michael Calderone and Kazuya Komada for the 8-7 win. Western Michigan won the doubles point with victories in the number two and three matches. The Bulls played tough against the Broncos in singles action with two matches going to first-set tiebreakers and one match decided in a third-set super-tiebreaker. Alex Kalinin won a set in the number three match against Komada. However, Kalinin couldn’t maintain the momentum of his second-set win and fell 10-7 in the super-tiebreaker.
