UB opened by taking two of the three doubles matches to earn the point. UB's number one tandem of Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) and Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) downed Colin Ryan and Dan Willford, 8-6. Meanwhile, UB's number three team of Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) and Chris Pyke (Watertown, NY/Watertown) also posted an 8-6 win over Eric Prince and Brian Shenker to clinch the point. UB's number two team of Fery Kasiman (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) and Rangga Prahudha (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) very nearly made it a clean sweep for the Bulls, but fell in a 10-5 tiebreaker to Avinash Reddy and Josh Bruce-Black, 9-8.

The Bulls pulled out the match with three singles victories including a thrilling three-set contest that gave UB the win over one of the top Division III programs in the region. Kasiman defeated Reddy, 6-4, 6-3, at number one while Zieziula had little trouble rolling past Shenker, 6-2, 6-1. Rocchio clinched the win for the Bulls by rallying from a set down in the number two singles match to defeat Ryan. After falling, 6-4, in the first set, Rocchio took the second set by an identical 6-4 score and then proceeded to take the deciding third set by a 6-2 score.

The remaining singles matches were won by the Yellow Jackets. At number three, UB's Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Williford, 6-3, 6-2. At number four, Prahudha was defeated, 6-3, 6-4, by Bruce-Black. At number six, Ivan Chamdani (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) went three sets but fell to Dan Schoenherr, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.

The Bulls travel to Kalamazoo, MI to open the MAC portion of the schedule with a Tuesday match at Western Michigan.
