Bulls Bank Big Win over Niagara

Buffalo defeats competition in men's tennis action

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team claimed a 6-1 victory over Niagara University at the Villiage Glen Tennis Club on Sunday.

Buffalo took five singles victories. At first singles, senior Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) led Jonathan Bozanich 4-2 in the first set before Bozanich retired. At second singles, Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Eric Roslansky, 6-3, 6-3. Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) took the third singles victory over Mike Kelly, 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) defeated Kris Hrisovulos at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0. Josh Liederman (Queens, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Jason Pope at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2. At sixth singles, Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) defeated Tom Rees, 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles competition, Brtko and Kasiman fell to Bozanich and Kelly at first doubles, 8-6. At second doubles, Rocchio and Zieziula defeated Hrisovulos and Pope, 8-2. Liederman and Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) defeated Tom Rees and Eric Roslansky, 8-3.

The Bulls will continue competition on March 25 at 1 pm against Rollins College in Orlando, FL.
