Bulls Downed at St. Bonaventure, 4-3 Men's tennis team drops regional matchup to Bonnies
ST. BONAVENTURE, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team fell to homestanding St. Bonaventure, 4-3, Sunday afternoon in a showdown between Western New York squads. The Bulls and Bonnies both are now 7-6 overall. The Bulls scored one win in the doubles as the number one duo of Marcelo Mazzetto and Kirill Kolomyts rolled to an 8-2 win over Jonathan Luce and Chris Post. St. Bonaventure clinched the doubles point with victories at numbers two and three. The top three players for the Bulls won their singles matches, all in straight sets. Mazzetto defeated Post, 6-4, 6-1, at number one. At number two, Kolomyts was victorious over Luce, 6-1, 6-3. In the number three contest, Alex Kalinin downed Diego Valdenegro, 7-5, 6-1. However, St. Bonaventure captured the bottom three matches, including the eventual clincher as Enric Larregola defeated UB’s Alexis Lluis in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. The Bulls are off until the weekend of March 28 and 29 when they travel to meet Mid-American Conference opponents Toledo and Western Michigan.
