Bulls Drop 5-1 Decision to Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team fell to Jacksonville University, 5-1, Wednesday afternoon at Jacksonville’s Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex as the Bulls concluded their three-match spring break slate in Florida. Prior to the match, the teams agreed to play just the six singles matches to determine a winner and not compete in doubles. The lone win for the Bulls (4-9) came in the number two match as junior Nikesh Singh Panthlia (George Town, Malaysia/BMK Penang Free School) scored a straight-sets victory over Francisco Riveroll. Singh Panthlia won the opening set, 7-5, then took a 7-2 tiebreaker to win the second set, 7-6, and claim the match. Octavian Stane (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) was the only other Bull to claim a set against the Dolphins (8-4). Stane forced Ernesto Ramos to three sets in the number four match but fell, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
