BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior Nikesh Singh Panthlia (George Town, Malaysia/BMK Penang Free School) has been named the Mid-American Conference's Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The league announced the weekly award from the Cleveland headquarters this morning.

Singh Panthlia went 2-2 in singles play at the number one spot during UB’s four-match Midwestern trip. His two victories pushed his season total to 20, tying his total from 2006-07. The two wins included a 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) victory over Illinois-Chicago’s Bastian Harbo and a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Chicago State’s Prakaso Imanuel.

In three seasons with the Bulls, Singh Panthlia has compiled a 58-30 overall singles record. The 58 wins are fourth on UB's all-time victories list. He also stands fifth on the Bulls' doubles wins list with 45.

The Bulls meet George Washington University on Saturday in their next match. The match will be held on neutral ground at St. Bonaventure University starting at 4:00 pm.
