Bulls Snare Men's Tennis Victory

Win over Division II St. Cloud State give Bulls three straight wins in Florida

ORLANDO, FL - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team continued its spring break match schedule with a 4-3 win over Division II member St. Cloud State at Sanlando Park in Orlando, FL. The Bulls have now won all three matches in Florida and improved their overall record to 8-6.

The Bulls dropped the doubles point winning just one of the three matches. Number two team Fery Kasiman (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) and Rangga Prahudha (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) scored an 8-6 win over Titus Christianson and Zac O'Donnell. UB's other doubles teams played well losing close matches. Number one duo Randy Rochhio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) and Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) dropped an 8-6 decision to Bryan Baumann and Bob Skenzich. The number three team of Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) and Chris Pyke (Watertown, NY/Watertown) fell to Casey Haselwander and Jeff Horner, 9-7.

UB pulled the match out in the singles competition, winning all four of their points. Kasiman knocked off Baumann, 6-2, 6-1, at number one. Rocchio and Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) dropped their matches at number two and three, respectively. Rocchio fell, 6-1, 6-0, to Christianson while Liederman was decisioned in three sets by Haselwander, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Prahudha defeated Zack Ulwelling, 6-4, 6-2, at number four. Zieziula downed Skenzich, 6-2, 6-2, at number five. The match was clinched for the Bulls as number six Ivan Chamdani (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) won a three-set match over Chad Olson. Chamdani claimed the first set, 6-2, but lost a second set tiebreaker which sent the match into a third set. Chamdani took control in the final set as he defeated Olson, 6-0, to give the Bulls the victory.

UB travels to DeLand for a matchup with Stetson on Thursday at 2:30 pm.
