JACKSONVILLE, AL – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis concluded its three-match road swing through the Deep South with a 7-0 loss at Jacksonville State on Sunday afternoon. The Bulls return to Western New York with a 7-5 overall record while the Gamecocks improve to 10-1.
The lone UB victory on Sunday was at first doubles as Marcelo Mazzetto and Kirill Kolomyts defeated JSU's Gustavo Holz and Bernardo Bachino, 8-5. The UB duo won all three of their doubles matches on the weekend and are now 11-5 overall and 7-2 in dual meet competition.
The Gamecocks took control of the match by sweeping all six singles contests from the Bulls. Mazzetto took Scott Robertson to three sets in the number one match, falling 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.
UB travels to St. Bonaventure on Sunday, March 15 for a 1:00 pm matchup with the Bonnies.
