Bulls Fall to Rochester

Buffalo loses at Nike Spring Scramble in men's tennis action

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team lost a close 4-3 match to University of Rochester on Sunday at the Nike Spring Scramble at St. Bonaventure University.

In singles competition, senior Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) defeated Colin Ryan at first singles, 6-2, 6-1. Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Avinash Reddy, 3-6, 6-1, 10-2 at second singles. At third singles, Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Dan Schoenherr, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Josh Liederman (Queens, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) was defeated by Aaron Arfman at fourth singles, 6-4, 7-5. At fifth singles, Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) was defeated by Brian Shenker in a close 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8 match. In doubles competition, freshmen Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) and Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) were defeated by Nithin Raikar and Dan Williford, 7-6, 6-2, 10-8, giving Rochester the two doubles points.

The Bulls will continue competition on February 27 with another match against Rochester.
