Bulls Drop 4-3 Match to Binghamton

Buffalo loses at Nike Spring Scramble in men's tennis action

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team continued competition in its 2002 season over the weekend at the Nike Spring Scramble at St. Bonaventure University. The Bulls were defeated by Binghamton University in a close 4-3 loss.

In singles action, Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) defeated Akshay Rao at first singles, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6). At second singles, Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) fell to Dmitriy Litvak, 7-5, 6-1. At third singles, Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) fell to Brad Davidoff, 5-7, 7-6 (7), 1-0 (5). Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Ryan Rosenthal at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-2. Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) took the fifth singles victory over Evan Gotlob, 7-6 (6), 6-2. In doubles play, freshman duo Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) and Josh Liederman (Queens, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) fell to Brad Sherwood and Steve Spencer, 7-6 (2), 6-3.

The Bulls will continue competition on February 27 at 4 pm against the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
