ITHACA, NY - The University at Buffalo's men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule Saturday at the Cornell Invitational falling to Marist 4-3.

UB picked up singles victories from its top three players. Fery Kasiman (Jarkarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) breezed past Pat Hofer 6-3, 6-0 at first singles. Justin Brtko (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) defeated Mike Sowter 6-4, 6-1 at number two while freshman Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) knocked off Martin Aldorsson 6-3, 6-3 at number three. The Bulls narrowly missed taking the other two singles matches as Sean Kelley (Gorham, NY/Marcus Whitman) was pushed to three sets at number five falling to Alex Elchero 1-6, 6-4, 6-0. Fourth singles player Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Willliamsville East) fell to David Slater 6-4, 6-3.

The Bulls continue play at the tournament throughout the weekend.
