BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's tennis player Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Player of the Week. Rocchio becomes the first honoree of the spring 2003 campaign.

A sophomore, Rocchio went 3-0 in his matches at the St. Bonaventure Spring Scramble to lead the Bulls to a 2-1 dual record over the weekend. Rocchio did not lose a set during the tournament as he won two matches in the number-three singles slot and one at number five, a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Binghamton's Jordan Steinberg.

For the 2002-03 season, Rocchio leads the Bulls with an 11-4 singles record, including a 9-2 mark as the Bulls' number-three player.

Rocchio and the rest of the Bulls continue the spring season with the Cornell Duals on Saturday and Sunday in Ithaca.
