Bulls Down Purple Eagles, 7-0

UB men's tennis team completes St. Bonaventure 5-1 Duals with 2-1 record

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team scored a 7-0 victory over Niagara University Sunday afternoon to complete the St. Bonaventure 5-1 Duals with a 2-1 record. The Bulls finished second in the overall standings behind host St. Bonaventure as the Bonnies completed the weekend with a 3-0 mark.

The Bulls picked up the match's doubles point as Joe Popielarczyk (Buffalo, NY/McKinley) and Rohan Raikar (Albany, NY/Albany) defeated Mike Kelly and Jonathan Bozanich, 6-4, 2-6 and 10-3 in the tiebreaker.

UB then went on to sweep the singles matches. Fery Kasiman (Jakarta, Indonesia/ESI International Academy) defeated Erick Garcia, 6-4, 6-2 at number one. At number two, Josh Liederman (Queens Village, NY/Benjamin Cardozo) downed Jason Ramos, 6-3, 6-4. Randy Rocchio (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East) breezed past Jason Pope, 6-1, 6-2, at number three. At number four, Nick Zieziula (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) scored a "double-bagel" victory over Kris Hrisovulos, 6-0, 6-0. Rannga Prahudha, at number five, defeated John Abella, 6-0, 6-2.

The Bulls are now 3-2 in dual matches and head to Ithaca for next weekend's Cornell Duals.
