Bulls Fall To Aggies, 4-3
GOLD RIVER, CA – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team fell to homestanding UC Davis Monday afternoon, 4-3, at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center at Gold River. The match was moved indoors due to the weather. The Bulls now fall to 0-3 on the spring campaign, including a pair of 4-3 losses as part of the season-opening trip to California. Singles matches were played first as the Bulls scored a pair of wins. At number one, UB’s Nikesh Singh Panthlia (George Town, Malaysia/BMK Penang Free School) scored a 6-4, 6-2 win over Michael Reiser. UB’s other singles win came off the racquet of Marcelo Mazzetto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Carlos Magno) in the number three match as he downed Nick Lopez, 7-5, 6-1. The Bulls scored a pair of doubles wins to take the point and close the score at 4-3. The number one team of Kirill Kolomytes (Moscow, Russia/Moscow High School 155) and Mazzetto defeated Daniel Elefant and Reiser, 8-4. The number two tandem of Singh Panthlia and Octavian Stane (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) knocked off Nic Amaroli and Nick Lopez, 8-2. The Bulls are next in action on Sunday, January 27 when they face Xavier on neutral ground. The match is slated for 9:00 am in Cleveland.
