Bulls Come Up Short Against St. John's
St. John's took the doubles point to start things off, but the Bulls did make it interesting as Nikesh Singh Panthlia (George Town, Malaysia/BMK Penang Free School) paired up with UB's newest member, Kirill Kolomytes (Moscow, Russia/Moscow High School 155), to defeat the St. John's duo of Tom Green and Derek Wallensteen, 8-5. However, UB was unable to pick up a victory in either the first or third doubles matches.
In singles competition, the Red Storm took all six matches, allowing only two sets to UB. Kolomytes, who was playing third singles, evened up his match in the second set before falling, 7-6, 3-6, 7-6. In the fourth singles match, Octavian Stane (Toronto, Ontario/Leaside) won his first set, 6-0, but ultimately fell to Martin Kosut, 0-6, 6-4, 6-2. UB remains in the New York Metropolitan area tonight when it faces Manhattan College at 8:00 pm. St. John's 7, Buffalo 0 Doubles
