2006-07: Scored consolation points in three events at the MAC Championships. Finished 12th in the 400 IM (4:12.30), 14th in the 1,650 freestyle (16:36.32) and 16th in the 500 freestyle (4:46.20). Named MAC Swimmer of the Week after helping the Bulls to a season-opening victory over Ball State.

High School: Graduated from Kelowna Secondary School. Swam for seven seasons with the Kelowna Aqua Jets coached by Takeo Inoki. Qualified for the Senior Nationals and competed at the Pan Pacific Trials. Finished second in the 1,500-meter freestyle at the 2006 British Columbia Long Course Championships.

Personal: Born February 26, 1988. Son of Jeff and Pati Vander Zalm. Has one sister (Christian). Favorite food is ice cream. Favorite TV show is Entourage. Famous family members include Bill Vander Zalm, the 28th premier of British Columbia (1986-91).
