Kevin Schuster Free, Fly Junior Rochester, NY Greece-Athena

2006-07: Finished seventh in the 100 butterfly (50.93) after posting a lifetime-best (50.85) at the MAC Championships. Also scored points at the MAC meet with an 11th-place finish in the 50 freestyle (season-best 21.49) and 14th-place showing in the 100 freestyle (47.61). Helped the Bulls to season-best times in four relay races at the league meet.

2005-06: UB’s top sprint freestyler as a freshman. Posted three season-bests at the MAC Championships. Finished 13th in the 100 butterfly (52.28) and 15th in the 100 freestyle (48.03), with season-best times for the butterfly (51.86) and freestyle (47.32) set during the preliminary heats. Also posted UB’s fastest 50 freestyle time (21.69) while swimming the opening leg of the 200 freestyle relay at the league meet.

High School: Earned five letters while captaining one season for coach Eric Ingerick at Greece-Athena High School. Earned 2005 All-American status. Set school record in the 50 freestyle and broke the district record for the 100 butterfly. Also participated eight years with the Northwest YMCA Stingrays club program under head coach Brian Bradstreet and the Tonawanda Titans club program in 2006, qualifying for Junior Nationals in the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly. Was runner-up in the 50-meter butterfly and 10th in the 100-meter butterfly at the 2005 YMCA Long Course National Championships.

Personal: Born October 10, 1987. Son of Don and Judy Schuster. Has one brother (Daniel) and one sister (Kristin). Favorite book is The Hobbit. Favorite TV show is The Office. Majoring in biochemical pharmacology.
