2006-07: Earned team’s Most Outstanding Athlete award and collected All-MAC Second Team honors for his performance at the league championships. Scored a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke final (1:51.59) after posting a lifetime-best time (1:51.45) in the preliminaries. Also finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:53.87) after a lifetime-best (1:53.82) in the prelims. Finished seventh in the 100 backstroke (52.18) and was part of three UB relays that set season-best times at the MAC meet.
High School: Won four letters for coaches Stacy Moore and Gretchen McSwain at Monarch High School. Earned All-American honors as a junior and senior and all-state recognition three times. Named to the all-conference team all four seasons with the Coyotes. Set the state record in the 200 freestyle relay. Also part of Boulder Swimming Club program where he was a finalist at the Junior National meet. Personal: Born July 15, 1987. Son of Tim and Donna Ruske. Has one brother (Matthew) and two sisters (Maegan, Rachel). Hobbies include mountain climbing. Favorite food is green beans. Majoring in communication.
