The Bulls made their first of three trips to Kent, OH this winter as part of the first Kent Invitational of the season and had several excellent performances.

The Bulls' men team got huge performances from senior David Monk (Norwich, NY/Norwich) and freshman Steve Esler (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) and had three athletes qualify for the MAC Championships.

Monk won the 500 meters in a school record time of 1:03.96, breaking his own previous mark of 1:05.11. The other winner for UB was Esler, who won the pentathlon with a school-record score of 3,485 points. That bettered the mark held by Matt Streng and qualified Esler for the MAC Championships.

In addition, sophomore Eric Czubaj (Buffalo, NY/John F. Kennedy) qualified for the MAC championships with a ninth place finish in the 800 meters (1:55.92).
