Oren Leads Bulls As MAC Meet ConcludesATHENS, OH - The University at Buffalo completed the Mid-American Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championships with an eighth-place showing scoring 113 points in the three-day meet. Eastern Michigan took the team title with 777 to outdistance Miami (Ohio), who placed second with 749 in the eight-team meet.
Oren also was part of the Bulls 400 freestyle relay squad which finished seventh in 3:10.85. Oren swam the first leg of the relay with teammates Jon Yarger (Centre Hill, PA/Penns Valley), Tony Lizauckas (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) and Kevin Kotowski (Wilmington, DE/Salesianium) following into the water. The time bettered UB's previous best by 1.07 seconds.
16:27.64, scoring three individual points for the Bulls. He cut more than 20 seconds off his previous best for the distance. Sophomore Alan Lowe (Brownsville, TX/Hanna) just missed the scoring column, placing 17th in 16:39.66. Freshman Evan McCormack (Webster, NY/Webster) also turned in a season-best time with his 19th-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 1:57.38, lowering his season best by a half-second.
