Weekly ReleaseThe Bulls placed sixth at last weekend's Mid-American Conference Championships held in Bowling Green, Ohio. UB scored 294.5 points in the eight team field as Eastern Michigan edged Miami for the team title 764-750. Coach Budd Termin's squad established several lifetime bests during the competition. Bulls 200 backstrokers Eric Stimson (North Tonawanda, NY) and Jason McLachlan (Arvada, CO) finished fourth and sixth respectively. Stimson's 1:50.45 and McLachlan's 1:52.69 both set new lifetime marks in the event. McLachlan also set a new UB record in the 400 Individual Medley in 4:01.45, good for eighth in the event. It was the second time this season McLachlan had lowered his own school record in the event. Stimson placed 13th in a time of 4:08.97 in the event. Both performances for McLachlan and Stimson were also personal lifetime bests. Other highlights for the Bulls included
John Nilles (Staten Island, NY) sixth place finish
in the 100 freestyle in 45.86, another lifetime best, while
Dan Hickey (Brockport, NY) won the
consolation finals in 46.03. The 400 free relay team of Hickey,
Dexter Tatum (Gainesville, GA),
Jose Moncion (New York, NY) and Nilles finished fourth in 3:05.90. Hickey also finished fourth in
the 100 butterfly in 1:40.44. |
