He lowered his preliminary time in the final round to 52.86, tying his season-best mark and finishing seventh overall.

UB's two other backstrokers Kurt Bessel (Mexico, NY/Mexico Academy) and Richard Shi (Ottawa, Ontario/Merivale) raced in the consolation final of the 100-yard event. Bessel finished sixth in the race, 14th overall, in 53.88 with Shi placing seventh in the race, 15th overall, in 54.41.

UB's foursome included Bessel in the backstroke, Leandro Souza (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Missouri State) at breaststroke, Kevin Schuster (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) at butterfly and Kevin Gatley (Charlton, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa) as the freestyle anchor.

Schuster and Aaron Moessinger (Elma, NY/Iroquois) reached the consolation final in the 100-yard butterfly. Schuster finished 13th in 52.28 after posting a season-best 51.86 in the heats earlier in the day. Moessinger, meanwhile, a lifetime-best in the finals with a 52.47 clocking to finish 14th.

Gatley finished 11th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:44.71 while Dave Harris (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) posted a season-best time of 1:50.14 to place 15th. Souza was 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.90.

The Bulls also posted a fifth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay final at 6:58.50 to conclude the night. The foursome consisted of Gatley, Jeff Hurst, Adams and Schuster.
