Luke Adams Wins Swimmer of the Week
BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's swimmer Luke Adams (Quinnesec, MI/Kingsford) was named the Mid-American Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week. The award was announced by the league office in Cleveland on Wednesday night. Adams, a sophomore backstroker, registered a pair of career-best swims in his races to lead the Bulls at last weekend's ECAC Championships in Pittsburgh. Adams finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.53 on Saturday, after turning in a career-best 52.32 in the qualifying heats. He came back Sunday with another sixth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.25, after lowering his career-best in the event during the preliminaries with a 1:52.69 clocking. The Bulls finished 12th among 24 scoring teams at the meet which included top programs from throughout the East. UB opens the Mid-American Conference Championships on Thursday, March 3 in Oxford,
OH. The three-day competition concludes on Saturday. |
