YPSILANTI, MI - The University at Buffalo men's swim team concluded its regular season with a pair of losses Saturday to Mid-American Conference powerhouses Eastern Michigan and Miami. The Bulls were defeated in the tri-meet by the Eagles and RedHawks by identical 205-35 scores. UB closes the regular season at 3-7 overall and 1-6 in MAC competition.

Two Bulls turned in sixth-place finishes to lead the squad. Sophomore Kevin Kotowski (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) took sixth in the 50 freestyle in 22.00. Freshman Aviv Oren (Rishon Le-Zion, Israel/Makif A') also placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.86. Oren was also eighth behind Kotowski in the 50 freestyle in 22.10.

Eastern Michigan took over sole possession of the MAC standings with its 139-104 win over Miami. The Eagles are now a perfect 7-0 in league competition while the RedHawks suffered their first league loss in the meet and are 7-1 in MAC duals. Eastern Michigan is the two-time defending conference champion.

UB now heads into the postseason starting with the ECAC Championships in Pittsburgh, where the Bulls traditionally see some of the strongest competition from throughout the east. The three-day meet begins Feb. 28. The Mid-American Conference Championships in Athens, OH kick off the following weekend, March 7-9.
