BUFFALO, NY - Although the University at Buffalo men's swimming and diving team won just two of the seven events on Sunday, the Bulls widened their lead to claim the UB Invitational title. UB ended the two-day meet with 1,250 points to St. Bonaventure's 1,130, an 85-point increase from Saturday's lead. Niagara was third at 280 with Colgate, which only sent divers to compete in Saturday's three-meter event, scoring 14 points.

St. Bonaventure won five events, but the Bulls were able to grab several spots near the top to score more team points than the Bonnies.

Two Bulls won their events on Sunday. Junior Mark Sy (Scarborough, Ontario/Mary Ward CSS) took the 200 butterfly title in 1:55.68, more than two seconds faster than St. Bonaventure's Patrick Doret.

Sy had also won the 200 individual medley on Saturday and was part of UB's winning 800 freestyle relay squad from the night before.

Sophomore Patrick Lee (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) claimed the one-meter diving victory for UB's other victory. Lee scored 295.85 points for his six dives to finish ahead of St. Bonaventure's Randy Kozlowski by more than 16 points. Lee had finished second to Kozlowski in Saturday's three-meter finals.

UB picked up second-place finishes from Dustin Hui (Gardner, MA/Gardner) in the 1,650 freestyle (17:10.63), Jeff Hurst (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena) in the 200 backstroke (1:57.55), Eric Schwarz (Fairport, NY/Fairport) in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.22) and Sy, Hurst, Schwarz and Luke Adams (Quinnesec, MI/Kingsford) in the 400 freestyle relay (3:14.24).
