Bulls Fall To Rockets, 134-97TOLEDO, OH The University at Buffalo men's swimming and diving team dropped a 134-97 decision to Mid-American Conference rival Toledo Friday night. With the loss, UB slips to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in MAC competition while the Rockets improve to 4-4 and 2-1 in the league.
Lee swept the diving competitions as the Bulls finished one-two in both events. Lee won the one-meter event with a six-dive total of 263.40 points and followed with a win on the three-meter board with a total of 252.60 points for his six dives. Junior Mark Taravella (Hamburg, NY/Orchard Park) finished second to Lee on both boards with totals of 228.15 on the one-meter and 166.45 on the three-meter. Sy took the 200 butterfly in 1:56.27 as well as the 400 individual medley in 4:09.05. Oren won the 200 breaststroke for the Bulls in 2:13.40. He also finished third in the 50 freestyle in 22.44. Freshman Dave Richards (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) posted a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 1:57.48. The Bulls close the regular season next Saturday, February 8, when they host conference
powerhouses Eastern Michigan and Miami (Ohio) at the Alumni Arena Natatorium at 1 pm. |
