Stimson's showing in the race was also his best mark of the season in the event. McLachlan also turned in a 2:20.05 showing in the 200 breast racing as an exhibition entry for the Bulls in the event.

The senior class of McLachlan, Stimson, Pun and Dexter Tatum (Gainesville, GA) also combined for a fourth-place finish in the 400 free relay in 3:32.75.

Freshman Alan Lowe (Brownsville, TX) placed fifth in the 1000 freestyle (10:01.20) and seventh in the 500 freestyle (4:57.30). Both events were won by Toledo's Vuk Danilovic.
