Bulls Fall In Double DualsBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's swim team dropped a pair of Mid-American Conference dual meets Saturday afternoon concluding their home season. UB fell to Northern Illinois 164-75 and Toledo by a 172-67 score. Toledo also squeeked out a 124-119 decision over Northern Illinois. With the losses the Bulls fall to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in MAC action. Toledo is now 7-3 and 3-2 in the MAC while Northern Illinois is 10-3 and 4-2 in the MAC. In their final home meet seniors Eric Stimson (North Tonawanda, NY) and Josh Pun (Edmonton, Alberta) were the Bulls' lone winners on the day. Stimson took the 200 backstroke in 1:51.81 while Pun took the 200 butterfly in a season-best 1:54.94 shaving almost a full second off his previous best. Stimson and senior Jason McLachlan (Arvada, CO) placed second and third in the 400 individual medley in 4:06.46 and 4:06.78 respectively. Northern Illinois' Mick Coyne took the race in 4:04.35. Stimson's showing in the race was also his best mark of the season in the event. Toledo's Vuk Danilovic won two events for the Rockets taking the 500 freestyle (4:42.41) and 1000 freestyle (9:47.85). The Bulls conclude their regular season next Saturday with another MAC double dual meet
as they face Eastern Michigan and Miami in Oxford, Ohio. |
