Bulls Drop MAC Duals

The men's swim team dropped a double dual decision 121-84 against Bowling Green and 145-60 to Ball State. With the losses, the Bulls fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in Mid-American Conference dual meets this season.

The Bulls had three first place finishes in the meet. Eric Stimson (North Tonawanda, NY) earned two victories taking the 200 individual medley in 1:56.52 to touch out Ball State's Josh Jordan by four hundredths of a second. Stimson also captured the 200 backstroke in 1:51.23.

Buffalo's Jason McLachlan (Arvada, CO) was also a top performer for the Bulls taking the 500 freestyle in 4:39.31. McLachlan also placed third in the 1650 freestyle in 16:27.12. He also combined with Stimson, Josh Pun (Edmonton, Alberta) and Dexter Tatum (Gainesville, GA) for a third place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.78.

Pun took second in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.44 and third in the 200 butterfly in 1:56.29.

Divers Mike Lampo (Frewsburg, NY) and Jim Taravella (Orchard Park, NY) finished second and fourth respectively in both the one and three-meter competitions. Lampo turned in scores of 212.05 on the one-meter and 249.25 for three-meters. Taravella finished at 175.80 for one-meter and 168.50 for three-meters. Ball State's Corey Ervin took both events for the Cardinals.

Up Next

UB continue their double dual MAC schedule hosting Toledo and Northern Illinois at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 27 at Alumni Arena Natatorium. The meet marks the final home appearance for the Bulls this season. It will also serve as a final sendoff to UB's senior class of Eric Stimson, Jason McLachlan, Josh Pun and Dexter Tatum.
